Thompson Mahogany Company offers Forest Stewardship Council™ (FSC®) certified hardwoods in stock and by special order. The FSC is an internationally recognized organization that independently monitors legal harvesting and reforestation in the logging industry. The FSC is currently the only third-party certification program recognized for credit in the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED green building program.
Our FSC-certified stock comes from well-managed forests, independently audited by FSC-accredited SmartWood, a program of the Rainforest Alliance, in accordance with rules of the FSC. SmartWood is the oldest and most experienced forestry certification program in existence. This certification includes a "chain of custody" tracking system that allows this product to be labeled as certified.
